报告摘要:

The recent nanoscience revolution has witnessed the rapid development of a variety of remarkable

nanoscale materials. However, one major technological challenge is to fabricate useful bulk materials

and devices from functional nano-scale building blocks. In this talk, I will first show several

examples on how to use the principles of soft condensed matter physics, especially colloidal physics,

to guide the solution-processing of nanomaterials and the construction of useful structures from

nanoparticles. The studied nanomaterials, catalogued by their dimensions, include 0-dimension (0D)

quantum dots, 1D carbon nanotubes, and 2D inorganic nanoplatelets. Then, I will introduce a novel

system that utilizes the biomolecular recognition, especially the hybridization of complementary

single-stranded DNA, to organize nanoparticles into well-defined clusters and 3D superlattices. This

unique system allows for the systematic investigation on the collective properties of nanoparticles in

these assemblies with precisely controlled positions and inter-particle distance.

主讲人简介:

孙博士分别于2002年和2005年获得清华大学化学工程学士与硕士学位,2009年获得美国Texas A&M大学材料科学与工程博士学位。2009年至2012年担任美国布卢克黑文国家实验室(Brookhaven National laboratory)功能纳米材料中心副研究员,2012年全职回国,担任南方科技大学微纳材料与器件系副教授。

孙博士的研究方向为纳米材料的湿法合成,分散,表面修饰,自组装与仿生自组装,由纳米粒子组成的超级晶体的结构与性能,功能高分子纳米复合材料,生物大分子与无机纳米材料的相互作用等。已在JACS, ACS Nano, Chem. Mater, Applied Physics Letters, Small等著名期刊上发表第一作者论文十余篇。
